Club Golf is a “first of its kind” program designed to introduce elementary and middle school students to competitive golf in a fun and efficient manner. Club Golf intends to build a pipeline of students with elevated golf and life skills that will attend the Triad’s historically diverse high schools and compete on their golf teams.
Club Golf is an after-school program and students sign up through their respective schools. After dismissal, students are transported to Gillespie Golf Course by bus where they receive golf and life skills instruction from trained First Tee staff and numerous on-course play opportunities. Each season features group practices and concludes with a series of kid-friendly competitions using the PGA Jr. League and Drive, Chip & Putt formats. Club Golf participants receive their own clubs and uniforms to use for practices and matches.

Club Golf Program FAQs
What schools participate in our Club Golf Program?
Club Golf is currently offered to a select group of elementary and middle schools in Guilford County. To inquire where the program is offered, please contact [email protected].
What grade do students have to be in to participate?
Grades 3rd to 8th.
Is the Club Golf Program available for boys and girls?
Yes! The program is co-ed.
What seasons is our Club Golf Program available?
Club Golf is offered during the fall and spring school semesters. The middle school Club Golf
schedule may be affected by the traditional sports season.
Is transportation provided?
Yes! Bus transportation is provided from school to the golf course; however, parents are required to pick up from our facilities when practices/competitions are over.
Is there a cost to participate?
No! We have everything covered, but we do require consistent participation to remain enrolled.
Kids that miss multiple practices/matches or have parents that consistently pick up late will be removed from the program.
Does my child need to have their own clubs and equipment?
No! We provide everything they need from a golf equipment standpoint (clubs, golf balls, tees,
etc.). All the student has to do is show up in the appropriate clothing and shoes.
Does my child have to wear golf clothes?
No! Most clothing is acceptable, as long as it is weather appropriate. We do also require all students wear close toed shoes. Gym shorts, hoodies, t-shirts, jeans and crocs are all cool with us.
