First Tee — Central Carolina is pleased to introduce our NEXT Program, also known as ACE. NEXT was specifically created to be a natural complement to our traditional golf and life skills core programming. This signature program is ideal for older participants, as it offers additional pathways for chapter teens to develop their golf and leadership skills.
The NEXT Program closely mirrors the First Tee ACE Program currently offered by First Tee Chapters Worldwide. This program is essentially the “NEXT” step for teen participants at our chapter. NEXT emphasizes a leadership pathway and is a capstone program designed for teens to assist them as they game-plan for what’s next in their lives.
NEXT takes a multi-layered approach incorporating self-exploration, active investigation of potential education and career paths, demonstration of leadership and investment in their community, and development of goals and real-world assets to kick-start their future. This is applied and represented within the four projects of the capstone.
NEXT Eligibility
To be considered as qualified for NEXT, it is required that participants:
- Be at least 14 years old or entering high school;
- Minimum of 3 years in the First Tee program (do not need to be consecutive)
- Minimum of attendance at 2 sessions per year; and
- Are assessed as ready by the Chapter
